The city of Miguel Pereira is located in the Center South of the state of Rio de Janeiro, in a region that historically became known as Coffee Valley, it is today one of the most popular destinations for tourists visiting Rio de Janeiro. The municipality, which boasts the title of “Third Best Climate in the World”, with lush hills and mountains, waterfalls and rivers with crystal clear waters, is also known as Gramado Fluminense, and received this nickname for obvious reasons. Just like the city of Riograndense, Miguel Pereira also has a “Covered Street”, a “Dino Land” and a “Crooked Street” to call his own. All inspired by Gramado’s attractions.
Terra dos Dinos
Terra dos Dinos (Dino Land) by Miguel Pereira, it is the largest dinosaur park in the world, with more than 1.4 million square meters (Parque Rocha Negra) in the Atlantic Forest. Dedicated entirely to the history of dinosaurs, the space has more than 40 models of prehistoric animals, in real scales, divided into three periods in the history of Earth Planet, as well as a replica measuring more than 30 meters in length of an Argentinosaurus. During the tour, visitors have the opportunity to learn a little more about paleontology and fossilization in a fun and entertaining way. Park employees, characterized, tell in a playful way the concept of the Land of Dinos passing through the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. It's fun for the whole family. And for those who like excitement, the space has a zipline 300m high and 100 meters long with an incredible view in the middle of the mountains of Central-South Fluminense.
Rua Coberta
It is the largest gastronomic hub in the state, the result of a public-private partnership built along the same lines as Rua Coberta de Gramado. It is 100 meters long and connects the city's main avenue – Borges de Medeiros – to Rua Garibaldi. A meeting point for tourists all year round, Rua Coberta has free access and serves as a shelter for rainy days, where you can sit without rushing and enjoy one of Gramado's main attractions: its gastronomy. The space brings together restaurants, coffee and gourmet shops, as well as 2 cinema rooms. There are always live music shows, which ensures a relaxed atmosphere to the place.
Rua Torta
The street, charming for its curves, is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city, with unique lighting and landscaping. What was once an open field has become a beautiful tourist spot, with emphasis on lighting and landscaping. A leisure area for day and night use with an eye-catching view. It is right in the center of Miguel Pereira, behind Rua Coberta.
Maria Fumaça
Miguel Pereira is the first city in the state to have a tourist train. During the 9km route, between the municipality's headquarters and the district of Governador Portela, visitors will be able to enjoy exuberant nature. Maria Fumaça rescues an important part of the city's history. It runs to the stretch of the Engenheiro Paulo de Frontin Bridge, in Vera Cruz, another postcard of the region.
