The postcard is formed by the hills of Urca and Pão de Açúcar, which are connected by a cable car that guarantees a breathtaking experience. Pão de Açúcar is in an important environmental preservation area, with mountains covered by the Atlantic Forest. It is almost 400 meters above sea level at its highest point and 750 meters separate the two hills. Opened in 1912, the Pão de Açúcar Cable Car was the first cable car in Brazil and the third in the world. From the top of the hill, one of the most stunning views of the city, which includes the Botafogo cove, the Copacabana waterfront and the entrance to Guanabara Bay. The attraction also includes shops, bars and restaurants.
