They are part of the group of 100 students of the Program training young people to follow the events of the G20 in the State of Rio, as a way to promote the debate of the themes of the forum in the schools of the state network

Three students from CIEP 117 Carlos Drummond de Andrade, in Nova Iguaçu, participated in the coverage of the launch of the publications Agenda 2030 and G20 and IBGE School Geographic Atlas, held on Tuesday (9/4) at Casa G20. Members of the school's communication project, Jornal Intercultural News, these students are trained in journalistic practices during high school. The three are part of a group of 100 students in the Young G20 Reporters Program, a partnership between the state departments for the Civil House (through the sub-secretariats for Communication and International Affairs) and Education, which is training young people to accompany G20 events in the state of Rio, as a way of promoting debate on the forum's themes in state schools.

At the invitation of IBGE, Diego Alves, Letícia Pinheiro and Sarah Gonçalves acted as photographer, reporter and editor-in-chief, respectively. The three received copies of the School Geographic Atlas from the president of the IBGE, Márcio Pochmann, and spoke about the experience of covering events linked to the G20.  Sara Gonçalves, the editor of the school newspaper, stressed the importance of covering topics relevant to the local reality, from everyday school issues to impactful topics such as those discussed at the G20 and environmental issues.

This was not the first experience for Sarah and Letícia, who had already taken part in covering the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in February at Marina da Glória, alongside student João Vítor Brasileiro. The students covered the event and carried out exclusive interviews with the president of the IBGE, Márcio Pochmann, and the coordinator of the Inequalities section of the 2030 Agenda, Denise Kronemberg.
