The Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro promoted, between August 11 and 16, a series of events in support of the Youth20 (Y20) delegation, the group whose mission is to reflect on the priority agenda of youth, influence debates and contribute to the formulation of public policies of the countries participating in the G20.

The City Theater space, provided for the opening ceremony of Y20, brought together more than 2,000 people on August 12, marked by International Youth Day. The state government was also responsible for coordination and enabling the promotion of cultural activities at the Circo Voador, in Lapa, also on the 12th.

Casa G20 operates at Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim, in Ipanema, and was the stage for the meeting with UN Youth Secretary Fellipe Paullier with national and international leaders.

The young people from the delegations were also able to take a guided tour of Christ the Redeemer and participate in a dinner held at Lagoon, a cultural complex in the state located in the South Zone of Rio.  Photo: Philippe Lima
